I started my professional life as a school counselor in Philadelphia, where I saw teachers, students and their parents. I worked for 18 years at Montgomery County Community College, where I taught yoga and counseled the students for relationships, parental communication and financial issues. Since then, I have been a therapist in Pottstown, for people with a wide spectrum of issues, at a psychiatric facility. To prepare for this, I attended Villanova University, and majored in Counseling and Human Relations. I also took a myriad of specialty courses in various specializations. I have enjoyed all of this work and study, and am ready to meet this next chapter in my professional life.

Deciding to go to a therapist for the first time can be scary. You have to acknowledge to yourself that you feel therapy would be helpful for you. Maybe you have an awareness that you need more joy, peace of mind and confidence in your life or maybe you have a specific issue that you need help with. Developing a therapeutic relationship with a client means helping the client to develop mutual trust and openness. I believe it's vital to help clients find these qualities within themselves. Many suffer anxiety and depressive symptoms that block them from reaching their goals. I help clients examine their thoughts and feelings by helping them bring to light some of their buried memories and negative thinking that keeps them "stuck." I guide clients in navigating difficult relationships while teaching healthy communication. I empower those who feel that their lives are more than they can handle while teaching positive coping skills. Each person needs support to face their lives with more confidence and skills. When I witness how a person’s interpersonal growth evolves, it is nearly as satisfying to me as it is to them and is why I love what I do.
