Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, my passion is working with survivors of trauma.

I also offer individual therapy for symptoms of depression, anxiety, and issues related to sexuality/sexually problematic behavior. Family therapy services include reunification for families affected by divorce and/or custody litigation.

I also serve as the administrator of a diagnostic assessment clinic which provides testing for ADHD, mood disorders, sexual risk assessments/psychosexual evaluations and an array of other mental health disorders.

My drive for treatment begins by connecting with you, followed by a collaborative alignment that explores the barriers that keep you from reaching your goals. It is a privilege to be granted access to one’s personal life, a gift that I care for with a great sense of empathy. If you are here, perhaps you may be ready to take a step further and reach out for help.

Although psychodynamically trained and CBT certified, I draw from a number of different therapeutic intervention styles that best fit each client. I am successful in treating adults with a wide range of problems, specializing in depression, anxiety, all spheres of relationship problems, boundary setting and assertiveness training.

Begin the process of self-exploration in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and confidential way to gain insight towards personal growth. I want to help you increase the quality of your life, in ways that lead to more fulfillment, meaning, and understanding.

From the outset of treatment, my goal is to build a trusting relationship with clients where I strive to see the world through my clients’ eyes, both identifying strengths and discovering more about each client’s ideal world, then finding steps to move in that direction. I have experience working with people who have many different reasons for entering into counseling, including the following: anxiety, sadness or depression, anger, mood swings, difficulty focusing, grief and loss, difficulty sleeping, low self-esteem, and much more.

I have extensive training in working with couples and I also work with individuals who are looking for relationship-focused counseling. Through examining both the relationship on a whole and how each partner is contributing to what is occurring during communication or conflict, clients will see that small changes can lead to movement toward the relationship each client desires. This type of work also applies to any relationship: parent/child, siblings, coworkers, friends – the possibilities are endless!

I aim for each of my clients to leave every session with a new awareness, connection, understanding, or skill. Come and begin your journey to making your best even better!

As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe space where you can begin to comfortably express your thoughts and emotions.  Through our work together, my hope is that you will experience acceptance and empathy as we collaborate to resolve any struggles or concerns you may have.

Having worked extensively with individuals and families over the last 10 years, I specialize in relationships; whether it is with a partner, a family member, a friend, or yourself.  My work is client-centered and combines cognitive, behavioral, and family systems approaches to meet your specific needs.  I work with children, adults and families, and have specific training in eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), attachment therapy, and play therapy.  I have experience working with child custody issues, as well as in foster care and adoption.  I have also worked with woman struggling with postpartum anxiety, depression and/or psychosis, and with families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss.  As an EMDR clinician, I also have extensive experience working with survivors of trauma and those who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Many of my clients come seeking help with issues such as depression, anxiety, parenting challenges, grief/loss, and family issues.  Regardless of your reason for seeking counseling, we will work together to form a plan to help you reach your specific goals.  If I can help you, please reach out- you don’t have to walk this path alone anymore.

The most comprehensive mental health treatment is always based upon the trust and bond the client establishes with the therapist. My primary goal as a therapist is to establish a foundational trusting relationship within the therapeutic alliance. My therapeutic style is diverse; however, I have had specific cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic training.

I believe in the value of promoting a strengths-based approach to treatment while engaging in a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment. I have extensive experience working with individuals, children, and couples. My expertise includes depression, anxiety, panic disorders, personality disorders, anger management, mood changes, attention/impulsivity disorders, neuropsychological testing, grief and loss, and addictions.

Therapy is a process of self-acceptance and exploration, and I look forward to building trusting relationships with all my clients.

I earned my BA in Behavioral Health with a concentration in Child Welfare along with my MA in Clinical Counseling, both from Alvernia University. This has given me the professional standards to use in the helping field.  Furthermore, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor, I have been able to apply my academics, life experience, and work experience to help reshape the lives of children, adolescents, adults and families.

I have extensive experience working with children that are living with ADHD, ODD, anxiety, anger, and behavioral issues. I also have experience working with adults struggling with depression, grief/loss, and parent/child challenges to name a few reasons that might bring an individual(s) into therapy.

Congratulations on taking the first step among many as you seek treatment within a safe environment while allowing me to assist you in your recovery process using an eclectic approach. My therapeutic style draws from a number of therapy types including:  person-centered, CBT, and behavioral therapy.  I adjust to a style that best matches the individual(s) treatment goals/objectives. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss our therapeutic compatibility.
